Amended Tax Return

Here is a brief explanation of the boxes regarding the Federal Amendment sub-step:

- Reason to amend your 2022 tax return - You need to choose the exact reason why you are amending. For example - 'Filed resident tax return instead of nonresident'.

Please, select your filing status from your 1040 - You need to choose the exact Federal tax return type that you filed the first time;

Please, select your filing status from your 1040 - You have to select your marital status you have chosen on your 1040/1040-NR form;
- Please, enter your Adjusted Gross Income - Line 11 on the 1040/1040-NR form;
- Please, enter your Tax - Line 16 on the 1040/1040-NR form;
- Your total federal tax paid - Line 25d on the 1040/1040-NR form;
- Total amount paid with request for extension of time to file, tax paid with original return, and additional tax paid after return was filed - Here you should enter the amount you owed on the original Federal tax return filed (only if you have already paid it);
- Your refund from previous tax return - Here you should enter the refund you have already received on a Federal level.

N.B1 - If you have not yet received your refund, please wait until you do and then file the amendment. There is NO deadline for it, but it is very important to not file the amendment before you receive your refund. 
N.B2 - If you do not have the other boxes on the sub-step, please enter 0s
