Sprintax will determine if you have legal obligations to file a State tax return based on the information you provided in your account and you will be notified about this in Step 6 - State taxes.
If you have any doubts (if determined that you do not have to file a State tax return), please go back to Step 3 - Let's talk money and check all the income documents that you have reported and check to see if they show state taxes withheld.
If you are unsure (if you don't see that any state taxes were withheld but you think that you did pay state taxes) it is best to contact your employer and ask them about that.
Remember that there are 9 states that do NOT have state taxes - Florida, Alaska, Wyoming, Washington (state), Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas.
