What are Itemized deductions?

The Itemized deductions on your Federal tax return include State and Local taxes paid from your income documents and all expenses reported in Step 4 - Offset your expenses. 

Please note that if you are an Indian citizen and you have used your tax treaty, you would NOT have Itemized deductions since your tax treaty allows you to use the Standard deduction instead.
