Canada Tax Treaties

There are 2 tax treaties you can use as a Canadian citizen.

- Independent personal services, where the payer can be Any Contractor. The tax article is VII and the period of usage is unlimited. The maximum amount you can claim is also unlimited;

- Income from employment, where the payer can be Any Contractor. The tax article is XV and the period of usage is unlimited. The maximum amount you can claim is USD10,000. Please keep in mind that if you surpass that amount with even one cent, you would become ineligible to use the tax treaty.

N.B Please be aware that whether you can use the certain tax treaty or not depends not only on your visa type but also your income documents received as well as the period of time spent in the US, your country of residence etc.
